2023 March | Intellivation Completes Manufacturing Expansion in Loveland CO

2023 January | New mill allowing high capacity and full manufacturing in-house of complete vacuum chambers.

2022 November | Upgrade and additional CNC and internal tools to support our R2R system manufacturing.

2022 October | Expansion of an additional 5,000 ft² manufacturing capacity to be completed January 2023.

2022 May | Applications lab expands with new R2R500 with additional sources and treatment options.

2020 May | Move to brand new state of the art, all purpose facility in Loveland, Colorado.

2016 August | Installation of R2R330 Applications Laboratory.

2013 January | Expansion at Fort Collins facility to 6,500 ft² facility.

2012 February | INTELLIVATION relocates to Fort Collins CO to 3,000 ft² space.

2009 | INTELLIVATION established and started in Mike’s garage in Tucson AZ.

Meet the Team

Mike Simmons, President of Intellivation LLC

Mike Simmons, President & CEO

Mike Simmons is President & CEO of INTELLIVATION LLC which he founded in 2009. He is a leading expert in the vacuum roll coating field with special interest in machine design, plasma deposition systems, in-situ monitoring, and automation. Mike has designed, manufactured and installed a wide variety of equipment worldwide, including R2R, batch, and inline vacuum deposition systems, for production and R&D applications, as well as automation machinery. Through his focus on quality and efficiency, Mike has built INTELLIVATION to be one of the most vertically integrated vacuum deposition equipment manufacturers in the world today. He holds leadership positions and is active in industry associations including Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC), AIMCAL, American Vacuum Society (AVS) and continuously supports the vacuum community through multiple initiatives.

Mike earned his mechanical engineering degree (BSME) from the University of Idaho where he graduated with honors, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Mike has published multiple technical papers and presented at global conferences on Vacuum Coating Processes, including but not limited to Vacuum Technology and State of the Art Roll to Roll Equipment and Processes. Mike’s enthusiasm and passion for the vacuum industry are represented in the quality and expertise available in all the INTELLIVATION products and within the team.

Liz Josephson, VP Commercial Operations of INTELLIVATION LLC

Liz Josephson, VP Commercial Operations

Liz Josephson is VP, Commercial Operations including Sales, Marketing, and Operational support for INTELLIVATION. She joined INTELLIVATION in 2021 with decades of experience in the Vacuum Web Coating industry supplying equipment and supporting projects including medical, barrier, flexible electronics, security and packaging applications in the Americas and globally. Joining INTELLIVATION allows her to continue to support the broad range of industries and applications served by vacuum web coating and INTELLIVATION’s unique solutions. She looks forward to working with the dynamic and diverse talent at INTELLIVATION and supporting their growth and continued technology developments.

Liz has a BS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and has published multiple papers and has had several leadership positions in SVC and AIMCAL.

Jeff Vogler, Principal Engineer

Jeff Vogler is Principal Engineer for INTELLIVATION LLC. He joined the team in January 2021.

Jeff got his start at Catalina Coatings in 1995 and has been working in the vacuum coating industry since. Jeff has been the primary design engineer on vacuum coating systems located around the globe in automotive, aerospace, cryogenic, decorative, display, and solar applications. This includes roll to roll, in-line, and batch coating systems from very small to hundreds of feet long. He is a contributor on multiple industry related patents.

Jeff also started and currently co-owns an air conditioning contractor business in Arizona.

Eric Rouch, Manufacturing Manager

Eric Rouch started with INTELLIVATION in 2015 as a Manufacturing Engineer. He has grown with the company and is now the Manufacturing Manager.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University combined with over 25 years of experience in the vacuum coating industry. He enjoys everything mechanical and working with the incredible team at INTELLIVATION.

His outside interests include off-roading, land speed racing (with a current best speed of 199.94 MPH), building Hot Rods and motorcycles.

Kaycee Brooks, Accounting Manager

Kaycee joined INTELLIVATION in 2021 and brings 30 plus years of experience to the accounting office. She has knowledge in health care, oil and gas, non-profit, as well as small business financial operations.

Kaycee has owned and operated multiple successful small businesses and is considered a pioneer in the crafting retreat industry in Colorado. She currently is co-owner of an automotive hail repair business with her husband, David and is a member of the Northern Colorado Payroll Association.

Outside of the office Kaycee enjoys gardening, reading, camping and boating with her family and beagles.

Riley Cournoyer, Machine Shop Manager

Riley Cournoyer is Machine Shop Manager at INTELLIVATION. He joined INTELLIVATION in 2019, with five years of machining experience.

He started his machine experience through the Machining program at Red Rocks Community College, he then moved to building injection molds. Riley has progressed to manager of the Machine Shop which has allowed him to grow as a programmer, machinist and manager. With a focus on streamlining production flow through the shop, maintaining high standards of quality and with a continued focus on customer satisfaction, Riley has been fortunate to build a great team of machinists working alongside him, allowing INTELLIVATION to produce excellent parts with impressive turnaround times.
